Aleurites fordii Hemsl.
This tree provides one of the primary "drying oils" used in the commercial world. It provides a tough, water-resistant finish to woods that does not darken the wood. It has heart-shaped or lobed leaves and pear-shaped fruits. The oils from the seeds are also used to coat electrical wires and other metallic surfaces. During World War II, the oil was used by the Chinese as a motor oil.
